What were the surfaces you were running on?

Treadmill is more forgiving than concrete. Gravel is more forgiving than asphalt, which is more forgiving than concrete.

I try to avoid running in new shoes immediately. Take them to the gym, or walk around in them a little before running in them, so they're broken in a little.

Is it the same model shoe as you've used previously? Sizing may vary between manufacturers
